About Me.
I am an experienced and passionate individual who wants to make the game more enjoyable for all golfers. Whether you are new to golf just getting started, or a low handicap looking to shave a couple strokes a round, I can help you.
Golf changed my life.
My father introduced me to the game. Golf brought us together in a significant way after college. We competed against each other for a homemade trophy. We took our first golf trips. We shared in the struggle and joy that is the game of golf, together.
Since 2015 I have been involved in First Tee - Greater Detroit. First, as a volunteer coach. Since early 2020, I have been Program Director. I have seen the impact this simple sport can have on young people. It is marked by endless challenges, a deep connection to others and the environment, and filled with professional opportunities. I became a PGA Associate in 2021, and am currently completing coursework to became a PGA Member and Director of Instruction.
When I first started golfing, I remember being perplexed, curious, and frustrated almost every round. I kept thinking, “How can the results be so inconsistent when my swing feels the same?” I would find a move or thought that would yield some positive results, but as any golfer knows, that would no longer work at a certain point, and I would be back to the drawing board. This situation is almost universal for every golfer.
The switch flipped when I was not enjoying the game as much as I used to, and I was scrambling for any solution to yield positive expected results. But, I thought about why I play the game. I thought back to when I first played with my dad, the golf trips I have been on with friends and family, the people I have met through this game, the opportunity it is has given me, and the solution came into focus. By shifting perspective and becoming detached from results, and dedicated to the process and experience of playing golf, positive results followed.
I play and teach golf because I love the game, at its core. I want to connect you with the reasons YOU play the game, and use that to inform our time together.
